An EU-based investment group approached the firm to acquire a portfolio of commercial office buildings in Frankfurt, structured through a Malta holding company to take advantage of the group's existing EU corporate framework. The transaction needed to close inside a tight window set by the seller, with title, planning, and tenancy diligence completed across several buildings simultaneously.
We ran the due diligence process in parallel workstreams rather than sequentially, flagging two lease irregularities and a planning consent gap early enough that they were resolved before exchange rather than after. The holding structure was designed to keep the group's reporting simple while remaining fully compliant with both Maltese and German requirements.
The acquisition completed on schedule, with the portfolio now held through a structure the client has since replicated for two further European acquisitions.
